YONKERS MAYOR SPANO TO PRESENT CITYS’ FIRST-EVERGREEN CITY LEADERSHIP AWARDS.
Yonkers Public School Students and Untermyer Gardens Conservancy to be Awarded for Projects that Improve Yonkers Environmental Health and Sustainability.
Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano will present Yonkers’ first-ever Green City Leadership Awards, which recognize local community organizations and students for their contributions towards improving the environmental health and sustainability of the City, on Monday, April 25 at 4:00 PM in the Ceremonial Courtroom (4th Floor) at Yonkers City Hall.
Untermyer Gardens Conservancy will receive $10,000 in grant funding for its proposed tree-planting program, and with support of The Plant, a private Yonkers developer, the Family School 32 and Roosevelt High School each will receive $2,000 for their award-winning school projects.
