Yonkers Insider: Yonkers City Council: Yonkers City Council Rules Committee Meeting - March 15, 2022 by Yonkers City Councilwoman Corazon Pineda Issac 2nd District.

 


The Yonkers City Council held a Rules Committee meeting this evening, March 15, 2022. All items on the agenda appear below, as well as the decisions taken by the City Council in regard to these items.

Items for Consideration by Administration

1.    A Special Ordinance amending the budget for the City of Yonkers for the 2021/2022 fiscal year in relation to transferring funds from and to various accounts for the purposes of: 1) the hiring of two cybersecurity consultants; 2) the building of a new museum roof; and 3) to cover increased cost of phosphoric acid that is used to reduce release of lead from household plumbing as mandated by New York State(Referred to Budget Committee for discussion. Budget Committee meeting called for March 22, 2022; item will be placed on the City Council Stated meeting for that same evening).

2.Local Law authorizing the sale of city-owned property on Warburton Avenue and Woodworth Avenue to the City Yonkers Industrial Development Agency for purpose of developing affordable housing. (Referred to Real Estate Committee for further discussion)
 
3.Resolution accepting the donation of $165,000 from the Police Fire Memorial Foundation of Yonkers. (Placed on City Council Stated Meeting agenda of March 22, 2022)

4.Resolution authorizing the disposition of certain city owned surplus equipment, not needed for any municipal use, to aid the people of Ukraine. (Placed on City Council Stated Meeting agenda of March 22, 2022)

5.Resolution requesting the introduction of a bill which would amend Chapter 125 of the laws of 2013 to, among other things, reinstate approximately 8.97 acres of parkland. (Referred to Real Estate Committee for further discussion)

6.Resolution issuing a Home Rule Message for Senate Bill ­­­­­ S8387 and Assembly Bill A9490 in relation to bonds and notes. (Placed on City Council Stated Meeting agenda of March 22, 2022)

7.Resolution finding that the transfer of certain city-owned property on Warburton Avenue and Woodworth Avenue to the City of Yonkers Industrial Development Agency for the development of affordable housing will not have a significant adverse impact on the environment (Referred to Real Estate Committee for further discussion)

1.Resolution to accept a fee-in-lieu of parking in connection with the site plan approved by the Planning Board for a 10 story, 76 unit apartment building with mixed use development on the properties known as 32, 36 & 38 Main Street and 1 & 3 Riverdale Avenue (Referred to Real Estate Committee for further discussion)
 
2.Resolution of the City Council of Yonkers supporting the adoption of Senate Bill S-8483 suspending the state gas tax and requesting the Yonkers delegations to the State Senate and Assembly to support and introduce identical legislation to provide real economic relief for all New Yorkers throughout the state but especially in the City of Yonkers by suspending the onerous and unduly burdensome New York State gas tax until September 2022. (Referred to Intergovernmental Committee for further discussion)
 
3.Resolution of the City Council of Yonkers urging President Joe Biden to provide real economic relief to all the residents and businesses in the City of Yonkers, the State of New York and America by opening the keystone oil pipeline and otherwise lifting all restrictions on domestic oil production. (Referred to Intergovernmental Committee for further discussion)

4.Resolution of the City Council approving plan modification to the modified urban renewal plan for N.D.P. area No. 1 and N.D.P. area No. 2 by adding a newly defined developmental area 14 to the plan. (Referred to Real Estate Committee for further discussion)
