Tonight, Mayor Mike Spano presented his State of the City address, demonstrating the incredible resilience and determination of our community to move forward after the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. Yonkers has once again bucked trends, silenced skeptics, and demonstrated that a bet against us is always a bad one to make.
Held at the newly commemorated Josephine A. Caruso Auditorium at Lincoln High School, Mayor Spano unveiled the progress our City has made and the path forward we continue to forge. While I couldn’t attend as I’m in Albany negotiating the New York State budget, I thank him for his acknowledgment for the funding I helped obtain for various initiatives, including the newly inaugurated auditorium where this wonderful event was held. I also share his robust vision for our City, and will continue to fight for our city, including obtaining more funding for our schools, a full-table casino license at Empire City, and more in this year’s budget. We are Yonkers Strong, and together we will continue to be Yonkers Unstoppable.
