The Russian invasion of Ukraine turned even darker this week as a Children's and Maternity Hospital was bombed and social media videos posted by Ukrainians showed so-called safe corridors for evacuation coming under Russian gunfire.
Governor Kathy Hochul has issued an Executive Order baring New York State Government for doing any business with Russian firms. My legislation, The Stop Russian Aggression Act, extends this to barring any State agency from doing business with a company still doing business with Russia. It has picked up additional support in the Legislature. New York State has the largest Ukrainian-American population in the country and our voice must be heard.
We pray for the people of Ukraine, fighting for their lives and for freedom.
