The Yonkers City Council held its first City Council Stated Meeting of the year yesterday evening, Tuesday, January 11, 2022. We held a Municipal Operations & Public Safety Committee Meeting as well. All items on both agendas appear below, as well as the decisions taken by the City Council.
Municipal Operations & Public Safety Committee
1. Local Law – Amending Section C8A-1 of Article VIIIA of the Charter of the City of Yonkers in relation to the Commissioner of Housing and Buildings (Kept in committee for further discussion). 2. Resolution – Approving an Inter-Municipal Agreement by and between the City of Yonkers and the County of Westchester to accept grant funding for the Grassy Sprain Dam Project. (Moved to Rules Committee Meeting on January 18, 2022). 3. Special Ordinance – Authorizing acceptance of County grant funding from Westchester County in the amount of $250,000 and amending the City of Yonkers grant budget for fiscal year 2021/2022 (Moved to Rules Committee Meeting on January 18, 2022).
City Council Stated Meeting
1. Resolution - Approving Inter-Municipal Agreement by and between the County of Westchester and the City of Yonkers to reimburse the City for providing positive youth development programs (Adopted 7-0)
2. Resolution - Authorizing the City of Yonkers to seek review of Fiscal Year 2021 and 2022 NYC Water rates by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (Adopted 7-0)
3. Resolution - Reappointment of Joseph Cianciulli as Chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals (Moved to Rules Committee for further discussion)
4. Resolution - Honorarily rename a portion of Horatio Street between Dunbar Street and Clement Street to "Rita Gross Nelson Way" (Adopted 7-0)
5. Resolution - To recognize and honor the late Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and recognize January 17, 2022 as a day of service in the City of Yonkers (Adopted 7-0) |
