Dear Friends and Neighbors,
As you know, my term ends January 1, 2022. I have truly enjoyed sending you these e-newsletters that connect my constituents with helpful information regarding County government.
From essential health information about flu shots and COVID vaccination guidelines, to Bee Line bus schedule changes, to fun events throughout the County parks, my enthusiasm for all our County’s amazing services has not lessened but rather grown over these two years. After the end of December, I invite you to write to me at legislatorwalter@gmail.com or find me on social media. It has truly been an honor to serve District 15!
Sincerely,
Westchester County Vaxx Opportunities for Adults and Kids
As part of a state-wide effort to increase vaccination and booster access, two pop-up clinics will be held in Westchester County in December and January. The clinics are walk-in, no appointment necessary.
The two upcoming clinics will offer both the Pfizer-BioNTech Booster and Moderna Booster:
- Wednesday, Dec. 29th at Greater Centennial A.M.E. Zion Church, 312 S. 8th Ave. in Mount Vernon from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. (Pfizer-BioNTech 12+, Pfizer-BioNTech Booster, Moderna 18+, Moderna Booster available).
- Saturday, Jan. 8th and 29th at Grinton I. Will Library, 1500 Central Park Ave in Yonkers from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m (Pfizer-BioNTech 12+, Pfizer-BioNTech Booster, Moderna 18+, Moderna Booster available).
Children ages 5-11 are also encouraged to get the COVID-19 vaccine. Westchester County released a public service announcement to encourage parents of children ages 5 to 11 to get their children vaccinated for COVID-19. The social media campaign “I Kicked COVID to the Curb” explains that the vaccine is the best way to protect our kids from contracting the virus, prevent serious illness, and stop the spread of COVID-19 in Westchester.

The New York State Vaccination Clinic for kids ages five and up has moved from the Westchester County Center in White Plains to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. Appointments are required.
The Westchester County Department of Health is currently partnering with school districts to host vaccine clinics for students at their schools. When public clinics through the Health Department become available for this age group, the information will be posted on the Health Department Website.
