The Yonkers City Council held a Rules Committee Meeting this evening, November 16, 2021. All items on the agenda appear below, as well as the decisions taken by the City Council in regard to these items. 

Items for Consideration by City Council 1. By Majority Leader Corazon Pineda-Isaac - Resolution of the City Council of Yonkers to Issue a Declaration of a Climate Emergency (Moved to Council Agenda of November 23, 2021) 2. By Councilmember Shanae Williams - Resolution of the City Council of Yonkers Calling on Mayor Spano to Appoint Golda Solomon as the City of Yonkers' First Poet Laureate (Moved to Council Agenda of November 23, 2021) 3.By Councilmember Tasha Diaz - A Resolution by the City Council of Yonkers to Recognize and Address the Scourge of Rampant Shoplifting Occurring in Retail Businesses Throughout the City of Yonkers (Moved to Council Agenda of November 23, 2021) Items for Consideration by Administration 1. Resolution - Approving an Inter-Municipal Agreement by and between the City of Yonkers and the County of Westchester for the Sexual Risk Avoidance Education Program (Positive Fiscal Impact.) (All Councilmembers.) (Moved to Council Agenda of November 23, 2021) 2. Special Ordinance - authorizing the Sexual Risk Avoidance Education Program (SRAEP) Grant from the Westchester County Youth Bureau in the Amount of $30,334.00 and Amending the City of Yonkers Grant Budget for Fiscal Year 2021/22 (Positive Fiscal Impact.) Special Ordinance - authorizing and permitting the property owner of 76 Locust Hill Avenue, Block 2027, Lot 101 to make a long house sanitary sewer connection to the city's sanitary system into Palisade Avenue (No expense to the City of Yonkers) (No Fiscal Impact) (Councilmember Williams) (Moved to Council Agenda of November 23, 2021) 4.General Ordinance - amending Chapter 91 of the code of the City of Yonkers also known as "Garbage and Refuse" in regards to commercial garbage collections (Positive Fiscal Impact) (All Councilmembers) (Moved to Legislation & Codes Committee for further discussion) I encourage Yonkers city residents to keep up with these items to stay current on what is happening in our city!
