Light will not be removed on Underhill Road until mid December. Bridge work is needed, a light is required but light takes a long time to change colors and inconveniences motorists.
NYS is doing repair work on the Underhill Road bridge - on the border of Hartsdale, Edgemont and Ardsley. A traffic light has been installed --causing some inconveniences to motorists. The work is important. The traffic light is needed. But, it is still annoying. And this light takes a long time to change colors. I received the following from Joseph O'Malley, PE Resident Engineer for the project. He is working with the NYS DOT.
PAUL FEINER
"There is work being done on the top (deck)/under (substructure pier). Work in both areas was being done simultaneously, substructure work was to be completed before the deck work. There are issues with the substructure work that is delaying the completion of that work. It is anticipated the issues will be resolved by the end of the week and work will continue on the substructure at that time. Overall completion of work should be mid-December."
