Yonkers Insider: Yonkers City Council Rules Committee Meeting - October 5, 2021.

 

Last night, on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 the Yonkers City Council held a Rules Committee Meeting and a Community Services and Mental Health Committee Meeting. All items on both agendas appear below, as well as the decisions taken by the City Council in regard to these items. 

Community Services and Mental Health Committee 1. A Resolution of the City Council of Yonkers in support of New York Senate Bill S1553B and Assembly Bill A6399A, also known as the "Clean Slate Act" (No Fiscal Impact) (Going on the next Rules Committee Meeting for October 19, 2021). Items for Consideration by Administration: 1. Resolution - To authorize the acceptance of electronic filing of assessment complaints with the City of Yonkers Assessment Department on behalf of the Board of Assessment Review. (No Fiscal Impact.) (All Councilmember.) (Moved to City Council Agenda for October 12, 2021).  2. Resolution - Approving an Inter-Municipal Agreement between the City of Yonkers and the County of Westchester for the use of the firing range facility for training purposes. (No Fiscal Impact.) (All Councilmembers.) (Moved to City Council Agenda for October 12, 2021).  3. Resolution - Approving an Inter-Municipal Agreement by and between the City of Yonkers and the County of Westchester to accept Title III-C Grant Funding. (No Fiscal Impact.) (All Councilmembers.) (Moved to City Council Agenda for October 12, 2021).  4. Special Ordinance - Authorizing acceptance of Gun Violence Prevention Initiative Grant funding from the New York State Department of Labor for $1,100,000 and amending the City of Yonkers Grant Budget for Fiscal Year n2021/22. (Positive Fiscal Impact.) (Moved to City Council Agenda for October 12, 2021).  Items for Consideration by City Council: By Majority Leader Corazon Pineda-Isaac- Resolution by the City Council of Yonkers urging the Mayor of the City of Yonkers and his administration to suspend enforcement of alternate side parking regulations throughout the City of Yonkers for the same holidays as New York City (Sent to Legislation & Codes Committee).   By Majority Leader Corazon Pineda - Resolution by the City Council of Yonkers declaring the month of October 2021 “LGBTQ+ History Month” in the City of Yonkers. (Moved to City Council Agenda for October 12, 2021).    By Councilmembers Rubbo and Merante - Resolution by the City Council of Yonkers declaring the month of October 2021 “Italian American Heritage Month” (Moved to City Council Agenda for October 12, 2021).    By Councilmember Diaz- Resolution by the City Council of Yonkers declaring the month of October 2021 “Disability Employment Awareness Month” in the City of Yonkers (Moved to City Council Agenda for October 12, 2021).    By Councilmember John Rubbo - Resolution by the City Council of Yonkers honoring Westchester Disabled on the Move Inc., upon the occasion of their 37th anniversary on October 17, 2021. (Moved to City Council Agenda for October 12, 2021).    By Councilmember Williams - Resolution by the City Council of Yonkers to declare the month of October 2021 as “Domestic Violence Awareness Month” in the City of Yonkers (Moved to City Council Agenda for October 12, 2021).    By Council President Mike Khader- Resolution by the City Council of Yonkers proclaiming and recognizing the month of October 2021 as “Breast Cancer Awareness Month” throughout the City of Yonkers. (Moved to City Council Agenda for October 12, 2021).  I encourage Yonkers city residents to keep up with these items to stay current on what is happening in our city!
