Yonkers Insider: Yonkers City Council Meeting - October 26, 2021.

 

The Yonkers City Council held a Legislation & Codes Committee Meeting, as well as a City Council Stated Meeting last night, October 26, 2021. All items on the agendas appear below, as well as the decisions taken by the City Council. Legislation & Codes Committee Meeting  1. Resolution by the City Council of Yonkers urging the Mayor of the City of Yonkers and his administration to suspend enforcement of alternate side parking regulations throughout the City of Yonkers for the same holidays as New York City (Kept in Committee).   2. General Ordinance - Amending Chapter 109 of the City Code of the City of Yonkers entitled “Vehicles and Traffic” to include new limitations on the parking of commercial vehicles (Kept in Committee).   3. Resolution – advice and consent to the Commission on Reapportionment Committee Members (Moved to Rules Committee Meeting of Wednesday, November 3, 2021). City Council Stated Meeting 1. Special Ordinance - Long House Connection - 37 Montgomery Avenue (Held over until the next City Council Meeting of November 9, 2021). 2. Special Ordinance - Authorizing the Enhanced Youth and Police Initiative Plus (EYIP+) Grant from the Westchester County Youth Bureau in the amount of $28,314 and amending the City of Yonkers Grant Budget for Fiscal Year 2021/2022 (Adopted 7-0). 3. Special Ordinance - Authorizing acceptance of New York Department of Criminal Justice Services Integrating Communications Assessment and Tactics Grant in the amount of $100,000 and amending the City of Yonkers Grant Budget for Fiscal Year 2021/2022 (Adopted 7-0). 4. Special Ordinance - Authorizing acceptance of State Grant Funding from the NYS Energy Development Authority (NYSERDA) in the amount of $150,000 and amending the City of Yonkers Grant Budget for Fiscal Year 2021/2022 (Adopted 7-0). 5. Resolution - Authorizing and directing the initiation of the review process to determine whether a certain street shall be discontinued (Adopted 7-0). 6. Resolution - Settlement - Nicole Mosello vs. City of Yonkers in the amount of $5,000 (Adopted 7-0).

I encourage Yonkers city residents to keep up with these items to stay current on what is happening in our city!
