The Yonkers City Council held its first City Council Stated Meeting of the season, last night, September 14, 2021. All items on the agendas appear below, as well as the decisions taken by the City Council.


City Council Stated Meeting

Old Business

1. General Ordinance - Amending Article XV of Chapter 43 of the Code of the City of Yonkers entitled "Affordable Housing" (Held over to be discussed for up to 30 days).

2. Resolution - SEQRA for amendments to Article XV of Chapter 43 of the Code of the City of Yonkers entitled "Affordable Housing" (Held over to be discussed for up to 30 days).


New.Business

3. Local Law - Amending Chapter 109 of the Code of the City of Yonkers, entitled "Vehicles and Traffic" in regards to due process procedures for towing and impounded vehicles (Adopted 7-0).

4. General Ordinance - Amending Chapter 43 of the Code of the City of Yonkers, and the accompanying Zoning Map - 612 E. Grassy Sprain Road (Adopted 6-1).

5. Special Ordinance - Authorizing acceptance of State Grant Funding from NYS Department of Motor Vehicles in the amount of $1,200 and amending the City of Yonkers Grant Budget for Fiscal Year 2021/2022 (Adopted 7-0).

6. Special Ordinance - Authorizing acceptance of State Grant Funding from the Empire State Development Market NY Capital Grant in the amount of $350,000 and amending the City of Yonkers Grant Budget for Fiscal Year 2021/2022 (Adopted 7-0).

7. Special Ordinance - Authorizing acceptance of NYS Department of Homeland Security & Emergency Services for the Critical Infrastructure Grant Program in the amount of $49,986 and amending the City of Yonkers Grant Budget for Fiscal Year 2021/2022 (Adopted 7-0).

8. Special Ordinance - Authorizing an encroachment in the right-of-way on Via Trenta Court (Held over to be discussed for up to 30 days).

9. Special Ordinance - Authorizing an encroachment in the right-of-way on Main Street (Adopted 7-0).

10. Special Ordinance - Authorizing an encroachment in the right-of-way on Palmer Road (Adopted 7-0).

11. Resolution - SEQRA - Proposed Zone Map Change for 612 E. Grassy Sprain Road (Adopted 6-1).

12. Resolution - Authorizing acceptance of a $5,000 bequest from Regina Shegerian to the Yonkers Animal Shelter (Adopted 7-0).

13. Resolution - Accepting the donation of $26,386.14 from Ro Pharmacy for use by the Office of the Aging (Adopted 7-0).

14. Resolution - Authorizing an IMA with Westchester County in regard to the "Stop-DWI Enforcement Crackdown Program" (Adopted 7-0).

15. Resolution - To start a Round Robin on Briar Hill Drive as a proposed public street (Adopted 7-0).

16. Resolution - To start a Round Robin on Larrimore Road as a proposed Public Street (Adopted 7-0).

17. Resolution - To start a Round Robin on Byron Place as a proposed public street (Adopted 7-0).

18. Resolution - To start a Round Robin on Montgomery Avenue as a proposed public street (Adopted 7-0).

19. Resolution - To start a Round Robin on Nantucket Place as a proposed public street (Adopted 7-0).
