Yonkers Insider: Statement from Yonkers City Council Majority Leader Corazon Pineda Issac 2nd District.

 

Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates and commemorates the contributions that people of Spanish, Mexican, Caribbean, Central and South American ancestries have made to our nation. Hispanic Heritage Month is from September 15th - October 15th because many Latin American countries celebrate their independence day during this time of year. National Hispanic Heritage Month seeks to emphasize the contributions that Hispanic and Latino Americans have made to American society, through their deep commitment to family and community, an enduring work ethic, and a perseverance to succeed and contribute to society. I am very proud to be Latinx and a Hispanic woman in a position to help empower everyone in my community! I welcome you all to join me and the rest of the Yonkers City Council at our annual Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration on September 28, 2021 from 5pm to 6:30pm at the City Hall Unity Fountain. We will have live music, fun activities and a lot of delicious food!
