Dear Friend,
This week, communities across the Northeast experienced the devastating effects of Hurricane Ida.
Far before the first drops of rainfall, Yonkers was preparing for the worst. No matter the preparation, cities everywhere in New York experienced heavy rain, mudslides, and major flooding.
I am proud to say thanks to the hard work of City departments including Fire, Police, Public Works, and Office of Emergency Management, they saved lives.
This morning, Yonkers received much-needed support from New York State. I joined Governor Kathy Hochul as she reaffirmed the State's commitment to providing relief to Yonkers residents.
Full updates on programs and other services will be included below.
Please, if you have any questions or concerns, call the Mayor's Help Line at (914) 377-4357.
Thank you and stay safe.
Sincerely,
MIKE SPANO
Mayor
