Con Ed - Update. The following are notes from a Con Edison conference call held this morning with Con Edison. Many down lines and severe flooding throughout Westchester. VP of Electric Operations gave a report – road closing and mobilizing of teams has been taking place- approximately 16K out of service in Westchester. Mamaroneck town and village, New Rochelle, Yonkers (1,500 out), Larchmont, Greenburgh and Scarsdale are heavily impacted. Sending teams out to help as well as municipal liaisons. New Rochelle was not listed as having requested a municipal liaison. 33 critical customer with no service – nursing homes, pumping services, fire station, police stations and schools. They are the priority Damage assessment being done now with an update coming this evening. 100 requested for mutual aid expected by noon today. Crews coming in from PA, CT and OH. Secured another 400 overhead requested from all over. Luckily update state NY spared from the storm and able to assist. Greenburgh and lower part of County have submerged equipment. Will know in a few more hours the extent of the damage. They are engaging with Verizon and other cable companies and expect to be working thru issues with them later this morning. They will be assessing where to set up dry ice stations throughout the county. |
