“Westchester’s labor union members are the heart and soul of our community. Nurses and teachers who have served on the frontlines of Westchester’s fight against COVID-19, trade workers who build for our shared future, police officers and firefighters who protect us every day and night, maintenance and support staff – like my father Stan – who keep us up and running, and countless others who provide so much for our community. While many use this holiday to mark the end of summer, remember the meaning behind it and protections we all enjoy today thanks to labor.
