More resources are available to help thousands of New Yorkers still struggling to recover from the devastating impact of the brutal and deadly Tropical Storm Ida.
Governor Hochul has announced that President Biden has approved more assistance to local communities through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Click here for more information.
In addition, those who have been displaced, will be eligible for funds for housing assistance, as well as crisis counseling, unemployment assistance, food purchases, home repairs and legal services. Click here for more information.
The state Department of Financial Services (DFS) Mobile Command Center is travelling to affected communities to provide help with insurance and storm recovery. The DFS hotline is (800) 339-1759, M-F, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Click here for more information.
Local officials in the impacted counties can continue to submit any resource needs directly into NY Responds, the state's web-based system that enables both local governments and state agencies to submit and share vital emergency-related information and resource requests.
