White Plains, NY – Thirteen members of the 300 Bloodhound Brims street gang have been arrested and indicted for their involvement in a violent group assault and robbery that took place in Yonkers, District Attorney Miriam E. Rocah, Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano and Yonkers Police Commissioner John J. Mueller announced.

On June 17, 2021, at a large group gathering and memorial, violence erupted when a 33-year-old victim was assaulted by Bloodhound gang members Latrell Murray, Vance Major, and Perryon McKenny as he left a deli near the gathering at 171 North Broadway. When the victim walked out of the deli he was struck with a bottle and assaulted as he lay on the ground.

Other Bloodhound members, and one Mak Balla/Bloodhound member, joined in on the attack and the victim was assaulted by over a dozen people who kicked and stomped on him until he was unconscious. During the brutal assault, the victim was also robbed. After the assault, the victim was transported to Westchester Medical Center where he was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury.

“This was a shockingly brutal attack. These charges demonstrate our commitment to aggressively prosecute all violence, including gang violence, and to seek justice for victims of brutal attacks such as this one,” DA Rocah said. “The people of Yonkers deserve safe streets and we will work closely with our law enforcement partners to ensure that everyone feels secure in their community. I am very grateful for the collaboration and partnership of all of our law enforcement partners, including the Yonkers Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Westchester Safe Streets Task Force, the Westchester County Department of Laboratories and Research, and the United States Office of Probation.”

“Great work again by our Yonkers Police in removing these gang members off our streets,” said Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano. “Gang violence is quickly becoming another pandemic affecting our urban centers, and by apprehending these repeat offenders who cause such destruction in our neighborhoods, residents can begin to feel safe again in their homes and communities.”

Yonkers Police Commissioner John J. Mueller stated, “It has always been a priority of the Yonkers Police Department to combat gangs and gang violence in this City. From the moment this heinous act took place, we set out to bring those responsible to justice. After a lengthy investigation involving Yonkers Detectives and Police Officers along with our partners in law enforcement at the County and Federal levels, we were able to identify fourteen individuals who took part in this crime. This collaboration continued as we effected the arrests of these perpetrators and dismantled a violent street gang with a serious and lengthy criminal history. Let this be a warning to those who wish to take part in gang activity: the Yonkers Police will find you, arrest you, and deliver you in to the Criminal Justice System.”
