As Washington works on a major infrastructure deal, meeting climate goals is becoming more important.  Researchers at Princeton University recently published their “Net Zero America,” offering five potential pathways charting different paces, priorities, and methods we should enact to reverse the damages of climate change.

As wedding season continues, and we have more opportunities to celebrate in person, the scramble to find the perfect gift is back in season, too. We compiled a list of some gift ideas for your registry that are sure to impress while keeping the environmental impact low. 

The White House and U.S. Senate reached an agreement on a historic infrastructure deal that will invest in clean transit, drinking water upgrades, and electric vehicles. (White House Press Room) Our president Julie Tighe and Marc Herbst executive director of the Long Island Contractors Association penned an op-ed praising Senator Schumer for his leadership on the deal and urging Congress to pass an even more aggressive climate recovery agenda.

This summer's extremely high temperatures are showing New Yorkers how important climate action is. Our president Julie Tighe says the key to combating the urban heat island effect is to mitigate climate change while prioritizing neighborhoods most affected by climate pollution and less likely to have air conditioning. Jessica Ottney Mahar of The Nature Conservancy, one of NYLCV's partners, praises the State Legislature for passing a pro-environment budget and urges them to pass more climate legislation next year, including bills to conserve 30% of our lands by 2030, expand protections for wetlands, and encourage the sale of more electric vehicles.
