In addition there will be family friendly games and activities for everyone to enjoy. Masks are strongly suggested and there will be sanitizing stations throughout the event.
Uplife Foundation Inc. is a Yonkers-based non-profit organization that
focuses on strengthening, unifying, and building up urban communities. The organization was started by a group of young black men who aim to be the image they want to see in their communities by leading by example. They host workshops and job readiness training to help uplift those who are looking to rejoin the workforce. Many of its members work in the construction industry bringing life to its slogan “Constructing the community.”
Its co-founders Reginald Joseph, who owns Cafe 2.0 , a new coffee shop in Yonkers, and Robert Salkey, collectively feel great about doing exactly what they set out to do when they founded the organization. “When we say constructing the community we are talking about leaning into urban neighborhoods and providing access to jobs, and resources needed to live a decent life,” says Reginald. Robert adds “ It’s all about constructing, building , and connecting the dots for families who need it. That’s what this annual event does.”
