MAYOR MIKE SPANO TO PRESENT 600 BACKPACKS FILLED WITH SUPPLIES TO MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. ACADEMY AT 10th ANNUAL “BACKPACK TO SCHOOL” DRIVE.
Over 1,200 Backpacks and Over 4,000 Supplies Donated by Yonkers Community.
Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano will be joined by Superintendent of Schools Dr. Edwin Quezada, Board of Education President Rev. Steve Lopez and
Martin Luther King, Jr. Academy Principal Dr. Sandy Hattar for the 10th Annual “Backpack to School Drive” Thursday, August 26th at 12:30 PM at Martin Luther King, Jr. Academy-Gymnasium located at 135 Locust Hill Avenue, to present 600 backpacks (filled with school supplies), face shields and classroom supplies received through the “Backpack to School Drive” to the students of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Academy.
Backpacks and school supplies were donated by City of Yonkers employees, residents, corporate and nonprofit sponsors including Heavenly Productions Foundation, Empire City Casino by MGM Resorts, Master Chef Nikko, First Group, Castle Royale, Precision Concierge, Rock & Rod’s Collector Car Club, Ridge Hill and Elite Investigations.
