YONKERS MAYOR MIKE SPANO TO PRESENT KEY TO THE CITY TO RENOWNED LOCAL HIP-HOP GROUP AND TO UNVEIL NEW FITNESS EQUIPMENT AT STEFANIK PARK.
Mayor Spano to Present Key to the City to ‘The Lox’ for Contributions to the City of Yonkers and Celebrates City Investment in Gym Equipment at Stefanik, Coyne, and other Park Locations.
Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano will present the key to city on Friday, August 6th at 1:00 pm at Stefanik Park (Nepperhan Ave. & Walnut St.) to the renowned local hip-hop group, ‘The Lox’ for their contributions to the City of Yonkers. Yonkers native and member of ‘The Lox,’ Styles P, will accept the City’s highest award on behalf of the iconic musical group.
Mayor Spano will also be joining the Department of Parks, Recreation & Conservation, and Styles P to formally unveil new state-of-the-art fitness equipment located in the park. Yonkers recently invested $250,000 in new fitness equipment at Stefanik, Coyne, Singlak-Keehan, O’Boyle and Barton Parks.
To promote health and fitness among adults and children, Styles P and the City also are hosting a community event at Stefanik Park from 12-3pm on Friday, August 6, featuring music, refreshments, a car show and a backpack give-away, while supplies last. The fitness area at Stefanik Park includes new workout ladders, parallel bars, jump steps and a combination street workout pro.
