Hastings resident Charles Copeland, a respected engineer, explains benefits of geothermal on radio program. New app could help you determine whether your property could benefit from geothermal
Westchester County property owners can now easily assess the feasibility of geothermal heating and cooling for any building or property in the County. The free, user-friendly tool – “Westchester GeoPossibilities,” geopossibilities.ny.gov provides information by providing information and assistance on energy efficiency and clean heating solutions that reduce carbon emissions.
I recently interviewed Charles Copeland, a resident of Hastings on Hudson on my WVOX radio program. CharlesCopeland discusses geothermal possibilities. His engineering firm, Goldman Copeland has re-engineered the historic Alexander Hamilton Customs House in lower Manhattan; Grand Central Terminal; the Empire State Building. He designed for the city of New York their online Geothermal Screening tool that Westchester now has replicated. In NYC property owners have been able to assess the feasibility of geothermal ground source energy for heating and cooling. His firm also created energy conserving redesigns for many relatively inefficient buildings from the 1960s and 1970s.
