On Wednesday, July 21, Yonkers Community Leaders, including myself, and Lt. Gov Kathy Hochul met for a round table on putting an end to gun violence.
Governor Cuomo said. "This new funding, for job training and stable, good-paying career placement opportunities for our most vulnerable young people across New York State, does just that. It's an investment in our economy, in our recovery, and in our security. And it's a beacon of hope for a generation that too often feels bereft of it."
Yonkers will receive $1.1M to support roughly 220 highly at risk youth in our community.
Gun violence across the nation is a serious issue that must be tackled and here in New York we are not just talking about it, we are engaging community stakeholders to act against the recent increase in gun violence.
We are stronger together.
Yonkers City Councilman, John Rubbo, 4th District.
