Yonkers Insider: Yonkers City Council Meeting - June 8, 2021 by Yonkers City Council Majority Leader Corazon Pineda Issac 2nd District.

 

The Yonkers City Council held a City Council Stated Meeting as well as a Legislation & Codes Committee Meeting, today, June 8, 2021. All items on the agendas appear below, as well as the decisions taken by the City Council. City Council Stated Meeting Old Business: 1. Resolution - Honorary Rename the portion of Murray Avenue between Mile Square Road and Henderson Avenue as Christopher "Tiny" Milano Way (Adopted 7-0). New Business: 2. Resolution - Reappointment of Adelia Landi to the Planning Board (Adopted 7-0). 3. Resolution - Reappointment of Michael Gillan to the Planning Board (Adopted 7-0). 4. Resolution - Reappointment of John Larkin to the Planning Board (Adopted 7-0). 5. Resolution - Reappointment of Roman Kozicky to the Planning Board (Adopted 7-0). 6. Resolution - Setting a Public Hearing for June 15, 2021 at 6:00 pm to consider the following proposed General Ordinance. A General Ordinance amending the Yonkers Zoning Ordinance as it relates to new permitted uses with supplemental requirements in the "BR" Zone (Adopted 7-0). 7. Resolution - Setting a Public Hearing for June 23, 2021, at 6:00 pm to consider the following proposed general ordinance: A General Ordinance amending the Yonkers Zoning Ordinance related to nursing home in the "OL" Zone District and a Zoning Map Change to property known as 120 Odell Avenue (Friendly Amendment - Date changed from June 15 to June 23 at 6pm - Adopted 7-0). 8. Resolution - Urging the Yonkers IDA to review and adopt policies recently approved by the Westchester County Industrial Development Agency's Board of Directors (Adopted 7-0). 9. Resolution - Celebrating June 19th as "Juneteenth" and urging the US Congress to approve this day as an Official Federal Holiday (Adopted 5-2, Opposed by Councilmember Merante and Minority Leader Breen) 10. Resolution - Declaring the Month of June 2021 as "Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Awareness Month" (Adopted 7-0).  11. Additional Item - A Bond was allocated to the Yonkers Park Authority from New York State, increasing the bond amount from $30 million to $60 million (Adopted 7-0).  Legislation & Codes Committee Meeting   1.   A Local Law creating a new Chapter 38 of the Code of the City of Yonkers entitled "Hotel Licensing" (Item was moved to Rules Committee for 6/15)
