Yonkers Insider Piece on 17th District - Westchester County Legislative - Democratic Party Primary: Elections 2021.

Former Westchester County Legislator Virginia Perez should be returned to the Westchester County Board of Legislators, in her 8 years as a County Legislator, She had a tremendous record of Accomplishment: No County Tax Increase to protect Westchester County Homeowners, New Shared Services with Westchester Cities, Towns and Villages to cut their costs, Increased Use of Technology to lower costs.

As Chair of the Committee on Legislation, Perez vetted and supported the Westchester County Immigrant Protection Act, which was signed into law by the Board of Legislators. This act does not interfere with the law when a crime is committed but rather protects people from being unjustly targeted simply for their immigration status. As a Hispanic immigrant, Virginia Perez was proud and happy to have been one of the Legislators who brought this to fruition. 

As Chair of the Committee on Legislation, Perez vetted and supported joint legislative packages highlighting several legislative initiatives for the consideration of the New York State Legislature and Governor. Some of the legislative priorities included but were not limited to:

• Provide Medicaid mandate relief for counties
• Reform Early Intervention
• Oppose the MTA Payroll Tax
• Increase Highway Improvement Funding
• Extend earned income incentives to childless people without losing benefits
• Restore the 2% cut in local assistance and restore state share of public assistance

 Now that's A Real Record of Accomplishment and that's not even her whole record of 8 Years as Westchester County Legislator. The Choice is Clear: Let's Return Virginia Perez back to the Westchester County Board of Legislators in District 17 to work for Her Extended Family for their betterment. Unfinished Business for her and It is time for her to Finish what She Started and Continue her Sterling Record as an Elected Official. She is the measuring stick, by which all Elected Officials should be Judged!

Current Westchester County Legislator Jose Alvarado is seen as a Lazy, Incompetent and Ineffective Elected Official in our view. His record as an Elected Official is not a good one, it is more earning a Paycheck, then working for his Constituents and that is not what an Elected Official is supposed to do. It's time for District 17 Democrat Voters to Vote Jose out of Office and have an Actual Elected Official, who will work for them. Jose is also A Double Dipper who works for City of Yonkers Parks Department as Director of Recreation, That is A Violation of the Westchester County Charter and That is a Fact!

The 3rd Candidate London Reyes in this Democratic Party Primary is making his 3rd Attempt for the 17th County Legislative District, We shall see what happens in this Race for him this time around.

Early Voting is from June 12th till June 20th. Primary Day is on June 22nd.
