Primary Election Day is tomorrow! Check here for information on deadlines and locations and check here for a list of 60 pro-environment candidates we endorsed. Webinar Recap: Decarbonizing Our Manufacturing Sector
We recently held a webinar on the opportunities and challenges of decarbonizing the manufacturing sector which is the third-largest contributor to emissions nationally. This was the fifth in our series on implementing the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act.
We joined Congressman Delgado, State Senator Hinchey, and the NYS Building and Construction Trades in the Village of Athens, NY to highlight legislation that will improve water infrastructure and rural mass transit, priorities that are in line with President Biden's American Jobs Plan. The State Legislature made a few gains this session yet they left a number of our priorities on the table before ending for the year, such as legislation to reduce transportation pollution and a bill that would decrease packaging waste. Our president Julie Tighe joined the Capitol Pressroom to discuss these policies. (WCNY)
New York City will begin construction on the Brooklyn Bridge protected bike lane, which will also expand access to promenade space for pedestrians. Bike lanes help reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality. (Gothamist)
