CITY OF YONKERS TO UNVEIL PUBLIC ART EXHIBIT ALONG YONKERS GREENWAY.
Five-Sculpture Exhibit Located Along Two-Mile Path Linking Yonkers to New York City.
Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano and community partner Groundwork Hudson Valley will gather Wednesday, June 30 at 10:00 am at 52 Lawrence Street along the Yonkers Greenway to unveil five sculptures installed by Groundwork Hudson Valley and artist Haifa Bint-Kadi. Located in Smith, O’Hara, Levine Park along the Yonkers Greenway, the public art exhibit features three mosaic poles and two 2-D steel cut outs that represent the Greenway’s history and natural habitat.
The Yonkers Greenway is a two-mile walking and biking path, which when fully completed, will link Yonkers to New York City and transform the abandoned section of the Old Putnam Railway line.
