May 10: County Executive George Latimer Gives Covid-19 Briefing.
Westchester County Executive George Latimer and Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone announced a shared services initiative to facilitate the electrification of both Counties’ fleet to reduce their carbon footprint and save taxpayer dollars.

(White Plains, New York) - Similar to President Joe Biden’s recent Executive Order, Westchester County Executive George Latimer and Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone signed dual Executive Orders that direct their respective County departments to develop plans to convert their vehicle fleets to electric by 2030. Departments are directed to submit plans to the County Executive and requisite departments within the next 90 days to achieve clean and zero-emissions fleets by 2030 or sooner.
The County Executives committed to a joint procurement for electric vehicles and state that the Plans submitted will inform the process to achieve zero-emissions fleets in Suffolk and Westchester Counties. The Executive Order is attached to this release.
