Earlier this week, the former Minneapolis Police officer who murdered George Floyd by kneeling on his neck for 9 minutes was found guilty on all three charges. Derek Chauvin was convicted of second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. After almost a year since this tragedy, and after many gatherings and rallies seeking justice, this decision has finally given us hope that people, even police officers, can be held accountable for acts of injustice. As we all know, the fight is far from over, as these issues still remain very prevalent in our communities. We must stand for what is right, and do our best to stop these incidents from happening in the first place.
Stay safe!
