LEG. ALVARADO ISSUES CALLS FOR FOOD PANTRY VOLUNTEERS.
Office Highlights Ways to Help Out During COVID Pandemic.
White Plains, NY — Legislator Jose Alvarado is asking local residents who can, to pitch in to help others in the community in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.
His office is highlighting volunteer opportunities in the community, to help support our neighbors.
One way is to help those in the community suffering from increased hunger during the pandemic by volunteering at the Food Pantry at San Andres Episcopal Church/Iglesia Episcopal San Andres at 22 Post Street.
The Church needs volunteers on the following dates this month: April 5-9, April 16-19, and April 23. Operations begin at 8:30 a.m. and run through 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, for those who are hungry. The Food Pantry also accepts food donations.
For more information, and to offer your services, contact San Andres’ Suyapa Hernandez at 914-963-9523.
Alvarado said, "So many in our community are suffering not just from the physical effects of the disease but also from the economic effects, including hunger. Since the early days of the pandemic, I've been lending a hand at San Andres' Food Pantry. It is such a valuable resource for so many in the community. And for those of us who are more fortunate, it is a meaningful way for us to help our neighbors and local families in real need. I encourage everyone to pitch in."
