25X25: Reclaiming Our Streets In an effort to reduce emissions from transportation as well as better the lives of New Yorkers, Transportation Alternatives founded the NYC 25x25 coalition, which NYLCV is a part of. Bethlehem residents in the Capital Region will have the chance to vote to begin a transition to electric school buses, which would improve air quality and children's health. NYLCV supports the measure. We have been conducting a public awareness campaign, Clean Buses for Healthy Niños, on the benefits of electric school buses. (Albany Times Union)

In an editorial, the Buffalo News supports the State's proposal to study the use of wind turbines in the Great Lakes. Renewable energy helps reduce emissions and combat climate change. (Buffalo News) Coming Up: Our president Julie Tighe will speak at the Symposium on Energy in the 21st Century on April 16th, which is organized annually by NYLCV board member Rhea Jezer.
