The Yonkers City Council held a City Council Stated Meeting today, April 13, 2021, as well as a Legislation & Codes Committee meeting. All items on both agendas appear below, as well as the decisions taken by the City Council.
City Council Stated Meeting - Old Business
1. General Ordinance - Amending Part VII of the Code of the City of Yonkers by adding a new Chapter 88 entitled "Tenant-Landlord Relations Council" (Vetoed, but will be reintroduced with changes)
2. Resolution - Commissioner of Deeds (Adopted 7-0)
City Council Stated Meeting - New Business
3. Resolution - Appointment of Chuck Lesnick to the Parks Recreation and Conservation Board (Adopted 7-0)
4. Resolution - Appointment of Rebecca Pfaffenbach Nova to the Planning Board (Adopted 7-0)
5. Resolution - Approving the use of the Eruv District for Lincoln Park Jewish Center (Adopted 7-0)
6. Resolution - Settlement - Ihsan Malkawi v. City of Yonkers ($175,000.00)

7. Resolution - City Council's intention to seek Lead Agency under SEQRA for the amendment of Chapter 43 of the Code of the City of Yonkers, commonly known as the Zoning Ordinance and the accompanying Zoning map regarding the properties known as 120 Odell Avenue, 967 North Broadway, and 951 North Broadway (Adopted 7-0)
8. Resolution - Calling on the City of Yonkers to evaluate and consider the implementation of a pilot program with circuit to provide Electric Shuttle Services to the downtown area (Adopted 7-0)
9. Resolution - The City Council of Yonkers establishing participatory budgeting (Adopted 7-0)
10. Resolution - The City Council of Yonkers in Support of New York Senate Bill S.1113 and Assembly Bill A.5375 to prohibit the use of gas-powered leaf and lawn blowers between May 1st and September 30th (Adopted 5-2, with Minority Leader Breen and Councilman Merante voting no)
11. Resolution - The City Council of Yonkers in Support of Establishing an "Excluded Worker Fund" in New York State (Adopted 5-2, with Minority Leader Breen and Councilman Merante voting no)
12. Resolution - The City Council of Yonkers in support of "Invest in our New York Act" (Adopted 5-2, with Minority Leader Breen and Councilman Merante voting no)
13. Resolution - Proclaiming and Recognizing April 2021 as "Arab American Heritage Month" throughout the City of Yonkers (Adopted 7-0)
14. Resolution - The City Council of Yonkers condemning hatred and violence towards the Asian Pacific Islander American Community (Adopted 7-0)
15. Resolution - Designating with an Honorary Street Naming Durst Place from Seminary Avenue to Dunwoodie Street, as 'Detective William Sullivan, Jr. Way' (Adopted 7-0)
16. Resolution - Commissioner of Deeds (Adopted 7-0)
Legislation and Codes Committee
1. Local Law - Creating a new Chapter 38 of the Code of the City of Yonkers entitled "Hotel Licensing" (Kept in Committee for further discussion)
2. General Ordinance - Amending Chapter 91 of the Code of the City of Yonkers entitled "Private Collectors" (Kept in Committee pending changes that need to be made to the wording of the legislation)
