PENNSYLVANIA MAN CRITICALLY INJURED IN MOTORCYLE CRASH - Fell 27 feet from Cross County Parkway entrance ramp.
(Hawthorne, NY) – A Pennsylvania man was critically injured last night after he lost control of his motorcycle on an entrance ramp to the Cross County Parkway and fell 27 feet to the street below.
Angel Lopez, 20, of West Hazelton, Pennsylvania, was taken by ambulance to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla following the accident, which occurred about 11 p.m. He remained in critical condition this morning.
Lopez was traveling on the entrance ramp from the Bronx River Parkway to the eastbound Cross County Parkway when he struck a concrete divider and was propelled off the motorcycle. He fell 27 feet on to Midland Avenue.
Westchester County Police responded to the scene along with the Yonkers Police Department, Yonkers Fire Department and Empress Ambulance Service.
Entrance ramps to the eastbound Cross County Parkway were closed until 3 a.m. while the accident investigation was conducted.
