Underground gas work on Central between Marion and W Hartsdale... new sidewalk under construction at some location Ardsley Rd sidewalk construction has started--
There are two projects taking place at the same time on Central Ave between Marion and West Hartsdale Ave. The town, thanks to a grant we received from NYS, is building a new sidewalk. The sidewalk is being constructed by a private contractor. That work is taking place during the day.
Con Ed is doing work at night - part of a larger underground gas project in the area. Con Ed has advised that the Central Ave excavating work will take about two weeks. The loudest of the work is the concrete saw cutting. The contractor has committed to doing this before 11pm. The contractor will also try to keep most of the jackhammering before 11pm when possible. The collaboration will allow Con Ed to complete all the individual service work before the sidewalk work is complete and create a safer work zone during this project.
The work is inconvenient for many people. But, like many infrastructure projects there will be significant benefits long into the future once the work is completed.

Work on the Ardsley Road sidewalk also started today and should last about six weeks. That new sidewalk will be constructed from Ft Hill Road to the Greenville School. There will be traffic inconveniences during construction.
