After hearing from Several Sources on this issue, we have decided to do a Write Up on this Subject. There is an issue going on in Yonkers Public Schools denying 4 Schools the right to be in person, when In Person Education returns. I feel that All Children in Yonkers Public Schools deserve an equal in person education opportunity. End of Story.
Yonkers Public Schools are bringing back student 4 days a week by combining hybrid cohorts except for the 4 Schools. The District is claiming due to capacity issues that these 4 Schools must stay at the hybrid 2 days a week model, while the rest of the Schools in the District will move to 4 Days.
The 4 Yonkers Public Schools being excluded are the following: Paideia 15, Pulaski, Khalil Gibran and DiChiaro. This is during a time, when Several Schools throughout Westchester County are moving to 4/5 Days a week. Many of them are moving to 3 FT with use of Barriers.
Yonkers Public Schools on the other hand will not budge, They are staying with the 6 FT. Sources tell me that The Yonkers School District has now Purchased Barriers. The Yonkers Public Schools Superintendent is Dr. Edwin Quezada.
We will keep our readers posted, if we hear anything else on this issue, going forward. I felt it was so important to Write this Piece to Inform Residents of what is going on in this issue.
This Piece is the Sole View and Opinion of Yonkers Insider
