FREE TRANSPORTATION TO VACCINATION APPOINTMENTS FOR SENIORS AND DISABLED RESIDENTS
$1,000 grants FOR FIRST RESPONDERS, HEALTH CARE AND MULTI INDUSTRY WORKERS WILL BE AVAILABLE
Thought the following information would be helpful.
County paratransit will provide free transportation to all seniors and disabled constituents who need a ride to their vaccination appointment.
o All reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance, in order to allow time for scheduling.
o To make a reservation, residents can call (914) 995-7272·
· New York State established the Empire Pandemic Relief Fund. Through this program, essential workers can apply for grants of up to $1,000 per household. Expenses eligible for reimbursement include out-of-pocket childcare, transportation, lodging and other qualifying expenses that enabled workers to perform their duties during the pandemic.

Qualifying applicants include first responders, health care, and many multi-industry workers. Up to $1,000 is available per household. Workers should be referred by employers, unions or social service providers who can verify employment during the COVID emergency. Families who earn up to 500 percent of the federal poverty level - or $125,470 for a family of four - are eligible to apply for the funds to cover expenses.
