Yonkers Insider Piece: Election 2021: Westchester County Democratic Committee Held Nominating Convention on Wednesday, February 10, 2021: Elections 2021.

On Wednesday Night, The Westchester County Democratic Committee met to Nominate it's slate for 2021 Elections at it's Annual Nominating Convention.

I am told that 1,000 Democrats Voted on this Virtual Nominating Convention, which is a tremendous by County Democrats, under the Leadership of Suzanne Berger. Westchester County Executive George Latimer was Nominated by Westchester County Dems for another term with no Opposition at the Convention, also Westchester County Legislative Candidates were Nominated for all 17 Districts, as well as a Discussion about New York State Supreme Court, where One Seat is up this year in Westchester County, there is also One Seat in Rockland and One Seat in Putnam in November as well. Now we head to the Main Event of the Evening, which was the Westchester County Clerk's Race in 2021 Election Cycle, between Current Westchester County Clerk Tim Idoni, who is seeking another Term as Westchester County Clerk and his Democrat Challenger Shanae Williams, Yonkers City Councilwoman, 1st District. 

Westchester County Clerk Idoni was Nominated by the Westchester County Democrats at the Nominating Virtual Convention, County Clerk Idoni was Nominated by Chairman of the Westchester County Board of Legislators, Ben Boykin from the 5th County Legislative District, then County Clerk Idoni Nomination was seconded by Yonkers 4th Ward Leader Eileen O'Connor. 

Shanae Williams was supposed to be Nominated, that didn't happen for whatever reason, She has promised to Petition to make the Democratic Party Ballot for Westchester County Clerk in the June Primary and has promised to run a very active Campaign for the Office of Westchester County Clerk.  

Williams Campaign Manager is Christine Peters, someone who has been active in Politics for Many Years and She ran two races for Westchester County Legislator in the 14th Legislative District herself. 

Had Williams been Nominated, She would have been Nominated by New York State Assemblyman Nader Sayegh 90th State Assembly District and Seconded Nomination by Community Activist Nicole Benjamin. That didn't transpire for whatever reason. We leave that to our Yonkers Insider Readers and Voters to Decide.

Designating Petition Process starts on March 2nd and runs till Petitions are due in Westchester County Board of Elections from March 22 till March 25th for Candidates to qualify for the Ballot for the 2021 Election Cycle.
