Hudson River Museum Elects 3 New Members to their Board of Trustees.
At their Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Hudson River Museum was the Election of 3 New Members to the Board of Trustees and they were: Angelique Piwinski, Derrick Touba and Lorraine Shanley, each will serve a 3 Year term on the Board of Trustees.
Piwinski is a longtime advertising executive, community activist and historian, which she is well known for. Right Now, She is an adjunct faculty member at the State University of New York and has many other activities that has made her very well known in the Yonkers and now in New York State as well throughout the Years. In the Past, Piwinski has served as the mayoral-appointed co-chair of the City of Yonkers LGBTQ Advisory Board for 5 Years. In 2018, the Advisory Board successfully executed the first-ever Pride Festival in Yonkers.
Piwinski is an award winning Yonkers historian, preservationist and speaker who also has served as a member of the Yonkers Landmarks Preservation Board for 10 Years also and was a 3 time President of the Board of Directors of the Friends of Philipse Manor Hall. In 2019 She was appointed by Governor Cuomo as a WorldPride Ambassador for New York State.
Lorraine Shanley is currently President of Market Partner International, a publishing and media consultancy. She has a record of being active for many years. She has worked in the past with a range of museums and art publishers, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Getty Phaedon and Abrams, among other places.
Shanley is a member and past president of Women's Media Group. She also is a member of the Stationers Company Communications and Content Guild in London as well. Along with her work as a consultant and recruiter, Shanley regularly writes articles on publishing and technology and reviews audiobooks and books.
Derrick Touba is an educator with 27 years of classroom experience. He currently is a Global History and Geography Teacher at Gorton High School in the Yonkers Public Schools. He previously taught at Yonkers Roosevelt High School, School 23, Emerson Middle School and also Intermediate School 158, Bronx, NY. He also served as a Trustee of the Yonkers Public Library from 2015-2020 as well and is a Member of the New York State Council of Social Studies and the American School Counselor Association. Before his Teaching Career, Touba has positions as a Substance Abuse Counselor and a Caseworker.
