Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano along with Yonkers Public Schools and the Yonkers Public Library will host the City’s Black History Month Virtual Celebration Thursday, February 25^th  at 5:30PM on FacebookLIVE @CityofYonkers. This year’s theme for Black History month is “The Black Family: Representation, Identity and Diversity” as it speaks to the diverse families in Yonkers. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. came from a strong family upbringing and his dedication to his family was a motivating factor behind his drive to push for social justice and freedom for all in America.

 The City’s celebration will include performances from local community members and remarks by the Yonkers Public School student winners of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Video contest.
