PERSONNEL CHANGES: Linda Heyward And The Yonkers Community Action Program (YCAP) Have Parted Ways - By Brian Harrod YONKERS: Executive Director Linda M. Grace-Heyward had been with the #YCAP since 2002 with the goal of advancing the welfare of low-income residents of Yonkers and promoting self-sufficiency for them in the city of hills. Prior to YCAP, Linda was a member of the #IBM Human Resources team, focusing on recruitment, benefits, resource management, and diversity. Ms. Heyward lives in Yonkers, and always said she was following in the footsteps of her mother, who had been involved in a fair housing study. Last September the The Yonkers Community Action Program Emergency Food Pantry, cut back from eight distributions a month and now only offers food to the community twice a month - despite being given a new taxpayer funded delivery van and walk in cooler. This have left many families struggling in County Legislator Christopher A. Johnson and Yonkers City Council Woman Shanae Natalee Williams districts. Unfortunately, programs for seniors and the youth did a poor job of adapting online during the pandemic.
