BUDGET REDUCES THE WESTCHESTER COUNTY TAX LEVY BY $1 MILLION FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW.
LATIMER WILL BE JOINED BY DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH WORKERS WHO HAVE BATTLED TO KEEP WESTCHESTER SAFE DURING THIS UNPRECEDENTED PANDEMIC.

(White Plains, NY) – Following its unanimous passage by the Board of Legislators, Westchester County Executive George Latimer will sign the 2021 Westchester County Budget.
The 2021 Budget reduces the Westchester County property tax levy by $1 million for the second year in a row. The Budget also maintains all County services. The expenditures in the proposed Budget of $2.091 billion are $15.7 million below the 2020 Budget.
The 2021 Budget includes an additional:
• $5 million for economic development programs
• $5 million for affordable housing and eviction prevention programs
• $2 million for food insecurity programs
Latimer will sign the budget at the County’s Department of Health clinic in White Plains with dedicated County employees Lori Smittle RN, India Harris RN, Kevin Smith RN and Toby Levin, as well as Commissioner Dr. Sherlita Amler and First Deputy Commissioner Rene Recchia MPH, who have led Westchester’s governmental response to Covid-19.
