Yonkers Insider: Westchester County Legislator Nancy Barr 6th District: Port Chester Declared COVID Orange Warning Zone.

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Port Chester has been declared a COVID “Orange Warning Zone” by Governor Andrew Cuomo due to the high percentage of positive COVID cases in the community.  It is imperative that every resident follow COVID protocols to help keep themselves and their families, friends & neighbors healthy and safe. Please watch this video, in English & Spanish, from Port Chester Mayor Richard “Fritz” Falanka, Village Manager Christopher Steers and Trustee Alex Payan, which explains what this designation means for Port Chester.

Also, please remember that COVID doesn’t abide by municipal boundaries. Sections of Rye Brook have been declared a “Yellow Precautionary Zone”, and positive COVID cases are on the rise throughout Westchester and in neighboring Connecticut. We are all interdependent upon one another, and must all wear masks, practice social distancing and follow State guidelines to reverse this increasing COVID trend.  In fact, as of 10:00 PM all of New York State will be subject to new restrictions to stem the tide of increasing cases of the virus.
