News Release: SMALL CITY SCHOOL DISTRICTS HIGHLY IN FAVOR OF SENATOR SHELLEY MAYER’S E-LEARN BILL.

The Association would like to thank Senator Shelley Mayer for her leadership in crafting the proposed E-LEARN legislation. The bill creates a meaningful solution to the significant barrier in lack of connectivity for our students and families.

This bill will provide full opportunity for educational engagement for all students irrespective of their zip code.

Our districts have worked tirelessly to provide virtual learning in our school re-openings. This vital component in the digital age provides accessibility to the nearly quarter of a million small city students our districts serve. This is especially important during this unprecedented time of Covid-19. We know we are not alone in this work.

Now more than ever it is essential for all students to receive fair and equitable educational opportunities. We must overcome all hindrances and provide connectivity to all students and families.
