PUMPKIN PICKING FUNDRAISER AT MUSCOOT FARM.
The Friends of Muscoot Farm is hosting a Pumpkin Patch at Muscoot Farm in Somers, Saturday through Monday, Oct. 10 through 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Reservations available at westchestercountyparks.
Pumpkins will be for sale in the garden on the Muscoot complex. Pumpkin prices vary by size.
Westchester County Executive George Latimer said: “We are doing things a little differently this fall, but Westchester families can still have plenty of fun in our parks and picking their own pumpkin is a favorite family activity.”
Reservations are available online only with scheduled admission times, no walk-ins. Time slots will be 30 minutes and accommodate 50 people per slot. The event is rain or shine.
All visitors will be required to wear masks inside the Pumpkin Patch and observe all safety rules and social distancing guidelines. Hand sanitizer stations will be located throughout the patch and farm. As an additional precaution, contactless payment is strongly recommended, but cash may be tendered as a back-up.
The Farmers Market and farm complex will be open as well. All the animals will be viewable in their pastures and pens. Restrooms and porta-johns will be available.
Alfred B. DelBello Muscoot Farm, a 777-acre, early 1900s interpretive farm, is a Westchester County Park. It is open daily and offers a variety of interpretive programs to the public on weekends throughout the year.
The Friends of Muscoot Farm preserves and interprets, for the public benefit, the agricultural, cultural and natural heritage of a Westchester County farm, circa 1880 – 1930.

BICYCLE SUNDAYS TO CONTINUE THROUGH OCTOBER.
Westchester’s recreation tradition, Bicycle Sundays will continue for two more Sundays to end the extended 2020 season on October 18 and 25, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Bronx River Parkway. There is no Bicycle Sunday on October 11.
Westchester County Executive George Latimer said: “Bicycle Sundays have provided our community with a great physical outlet during a time where most activities have not been able to take place. I’m excited we were able to extend the program a few times this year to continue to provide this must-needed outlet to residents.”
During Bicycle Sundays, a portion of the Bronx River Parkway is closed to cars from for the exclusive use of bicyclists, joggers, walkers, scooters and strollers. The course runs from the Westchester County Center in White Plains, south to Scarsdale Road in Yonkers, a round-trip of 13.1 miles. There are many points of entry and exit along the way. Parking is available at the County Center lot in White Plains for a fee of $8.
Participants are to wear masks or face coverings where social distancing cannot be maintained.
Bicycle Sundays, co-sponsored by Con Edison and the NewYork-Presbyterian and the Westchester Parks Foundation, is presented by Westchester County Parks. Additional support is provided by 100.7 WHUD radio.
