FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: NYPD CAPTAINS ENDOWMENT ASSOCIATION ENDORSES ASTORINO FOR STATE SENATE.
Joins State Troopers PBA, Dutchess County Deputy Sheriff's PBA,
NYPD Detectives PBA in Backing Tough-on-Crime Former
County Executive Astorino for Senate Seat.
Hudson Valley-Sept. 15...
The Captains Endowment Association of the Police Department of the City of New York has endorsed former two-term Westchester county executive Rob Astorino in his race for state senate in the 40th District (parts of Westchester, Putnam, and Dutchess counties) it was announced today.
In endorsing Mr. Astorino for state senate, the NYPD Captains join the NYPD Detectives PBA, the New York State Troopers PBA, and the Dutchess County Deputy Sheriff's PBA in backing the tough-on-crime former county executive for senate.
“After an extensive vetting process, we've come to trust that you are the candidate, out of all the other candidates, who best understands the needs and concerns of New York City's police force, as well as the needs and concerns of the uniformed civil service ranks of the City of New York,” said Captains Endowment President Chris Monahan. “We look forward to working closely and productively with you on any and all issues that affect organized labor and/or law enforcement in your community. Please feel free to call upon us if issues arise where our input can be helpful in improving and/or preserving the quality of life in the neighborhoods you represent.”
“I’m deeply grateful for this strong endorsement from the NYPD Captains and for the overwhelming support my candidacy is receiving from the law enforcement community as a whole,” Mr. Astorino said. “New York neighborhoods are less safe because of my opponent’s no-cash-bail law, and how he continues to defend it is beyond me. Virtually anyone in law enforcement, including three NYPD commissioners, will tell you that Senator Harckham’s legislation sparked the growing crime wave, and repealing his ill-conceived law will be a top priority for me as state senator. The safety of our families comes before everything.”
