Yonkers Insider: Town of Greenburgh.
In 2018 our Greenburgh summer interns organized a major lobbying effort highlighting conditions on New York State roads. They met with the Regional Director of the NYS Department of Transportation and the leadership team, reached out to Senator Andrea Stewart Cousins and Assemblyman Tom Abinanti, organized on line petition drives and letter writing campaigns. And were interviewed by the media. Good news!!! Spoke with Dina Colavito, Engineer with the NYS Department of Transportation and was advised that the state will be repaving 100 B (Dobbs Ferry Road. Work is expected to start sometime in September. Work will encompass milling and paving, drainage, loops, striping & ADA ramps, from the Sprain Brook Parkway to Route 119. This is a nighttime contract with minimal daytime hours. I am very grateful to NYS for this work. Dobbs Ferry Road was one of the worst NYS roads located in Greenburgh - with many large potholes. This is 3rd major NYS road in Greenburgh to be repaved in 2020.
