YONKERS, NY – June 12, 2020 – Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano today announced the appointment of Reverend William E. Norman, Sr., a 42-year retired Vietnam Veteran, as the new Director of the Yonkers Office of Veterans Services.
“Rev. Norman has proudly served our country overseas and our communities here in Yonkers, dedicating his time to supporting both military service members and residents in need,” said Mayor Spano. “Rev. Norman will be a tremendous asset to our City and advocate on behalf of our Veterans and their families in assuring they receive the support and resources they deserve.”
Rev. Norman received several medals and commendations for his service in the United States Marine and was also awarded Meritorious Mast for his bravery in the line of duty. “I would like to extend my gratitude to Mayor Mike Spano, for his vote of confidence in me,” said Rev. William Norman. “To the Veteran community, I pledge to provide and advocate for services for you and your families. I look forward to building on the outstanding programs that the Office of Veterans Services offers the servicemen and women of Yonkers."
