Yonkers Insider: NEWS: Hispanic Leadership Support for Eliot Engel Grows Ahead of Primary.

NEW YORK - Two major Westchester Hispanic organizations have endorsed Congressman Eliot Engel ahead of Tuesday’s Democratic primary, urging voters in the Hispanic community in the Bronx and Westchester to support him on June 23rd. Hispanic Democrats of Westchester, whose mission is to empower and educate the Hispanic Community of Westchester, has endorsed Congressman Engel for reelection. The Westchester Hispanic Law Enforcement Association has also endorsed Congressman Engel, writing in its endorsement letter: “We believe in you and the issues that you stand for. Your knowledge and experience is a testament to your understanding on the issues at hand.” Congressman Engel has also been endorsed by Westchester County Legislator Jose Alvarado; Yonkers Council Members Corazon Pineda Isaac and Tasha Diaz; and New Rochelle Council Member Martha Lopez. Nationally, Congressman Engel has also been endorsed by BOLD PAC (the Congressional Hispanic Caucus) because of his work on key issues for the community, including immigration reform and fighting Trump’s worst abuses. “I’m honored to have the support of these deeply committed Hispanic leaders,” said Congressman Engel. “They know my record - that I support DACA, that I’m fighting Trump. When I became Chairman of Foreign Affairs, my first trip was to the border to document conditions there and oppose Trump’s horrendous policies. I’m also working for equal pay for women, affordable health care, against hate crimes, and to get billions for our hospitals.”
