“Westchester County will forever be indebted to those who risked their lives and sacrificed everything to protect our liberties and freedom. While we may be in the midst of a global pandemic, it is still our responsibility to ensure that our nation’s heroes will always be remembered with dignity and pride. This Memorial Day will be celebrated differently than Memorial Days in the past; we will not be able to gather together with family, friends and loved ones as we normally do to embark on the unofficial ‘kick-off’ to summer. But – let us be sure to take a few moments to honor and remember those who lost their lives, so that we may be free. May these heroes never be forgotten.
