Yonkers Police to have increased presence at local theaters for release of Joker movie
Community members are advised to expect a Yonkers Police presence at local theaters this weekend beginning today Thursday evening to coincide with the release of the Joker movie. The Yonkers Police Department has no information indicating specific, credible threats to a particular location or venue; however, out of an abundance of caution and for the safety of our residents, police officers will be assigned to and or conducting directed patrols at the Ridge Hill, Cross County, and Alamo Drafthouse theater locations.
Movie goers are also advised that theater management WILL NOT be allowing patrons in wearing face-masks, face-paintings, etc. Additionally, patrons can expect random bag searches and unaccompanied minors will not be allowed into the R-rated movie. Please plan accordingly.
